I had a very nice Ctenochaetus Binotatus, until my maroon clown beat him up too badly.

The 2 spot is one of the nicer, less seen tangs for not a lot of $$.

That is what I was thinking too. I have yet to see one in the Treasure Valley and it is relatively inexpensive. I just don't want to get a dud, the only one that will not eat hair algae, or eat at all for that matter!

Hah, I have a Chevron Tang and an Algae Blenny... Both like to eat the naturally grown algae in the tank. Its funny to see random peck and lip marks on the side of the aquarium :D! I believe if you want a tang any of the Ctenochaetus tangs would fit in well.

Any but the striated ctenochaetus tang, those get mean in a community tank.

So pretty much the two spot bristletooth will be a good bet? What kind of algae do they pick at? For instance would they pick at green hair algae?

I would buy a 2 spot in a heartbeat. I had one a while back and I loved that fish. My maroon beat it up out of the blue one day several months after having the tang, and it did not make it. That tang was like 4.5" even.

Yes, they eat pretty much any algae. Bristletooths are by far the most adapted to eating algae of nearly any fish.
