Ok here we go. Sorry for the bad quality but I took these this morning with the lights out...

The first two show the PVC holder I tried building to avoid drilling the sump but after two attempts at flooding the basement the wife said no more so....
I decided to follow the directions that came with the float valve.

Third picture shows the float valve mounted in the sump and 4th picture shows the RO line coming through the ceiling... It's nice how the camera makes the dust cobwebs show up. I thought that added a nice touch... ;D

I see now why the PVC didn't work. You used a plug instead of a end cap to mount the float too. No wonder you didn't have the room for the anchor nut. That short term memory must have failed from my house to yours.....;) Should have taken pictures. 8)

    Memory? What's that? 8)

man I'm thinking Lowe's was either out of T fittings with the slip joint needed for the cap or they were out of caps. One or the other but anyways that's why I decided to "improvise" a bit.
I think you're right though and that's why the fittings weren't sealing properly.

Good news is it seems to be working now and the salinity is on the SLOW rise.

It dropped from 1.025 down to 1.0225 but it should be back up to 1.025 by the end of the day tomorrow.

All of this has played havoc on my acro's...

I'm thinking Lowe's was out of either the caps or the T with the slip fitting. The plan was to make mine just like Otty's...

3 days down and things seem to be working as normal. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed while I'm away this week...

Sorry for the late reply Tangster but I was out in Vegas all week last week...

I think mounting the float valve through the sump worked so I don't need any fittings.

Thanks for the offer though. Your expertise and help is appreciated as always!

Now if I could get all of the crap out of my overflows I should be good...;D
