Kole Tang Qs

    I am pretty sure I know the answer, but.....

    How long could you keep a Kole Tang in a 45H reef before he ran out of room?

    Would you even keep a 3" Tang in a 45? Sailfin, yellow, etc.

    I guess you can keep the Kole Tang in a 45g but for no longer than a few months. Ideally the min tank size for them is a 55. You can also keep a yellow but not together in that size. But not a sailfin. A sailfin's min tank size is about a 125gal.

    That's what I figured. Darn swim room. Will be almost a year until my upgrade.

    It's always better to go slow and be sure your fish have the best possible life. I shouldn't be the one talking here because I have a Sailfin in a 75g and It's not enough swimming room. I need to upgrade. The upgrade is coming next month though.

    The Kole is a smaller tang, if I were to keep any tang ina 45g, a kole would be it.

    Agreed, I have had one for the past 3 yrs and I havent seen much growth to it. For a 45g tank, I would get the Kole Tang, I love that fish. Always becking at everything.
