I'm having an issue with my pump. Fully put together it sucks water in and forces it through the top of the pump. If I take the guard off and essentially put it on upside down it works fine. The only problem there would be its super dangerous because the guard only fits on the assembly in one direction. Any ideas?

Unplug it and plug it back in-works sometime. They often do this when stopping and restarting them often.

Well it works but the flow seems kind of weak. Its twice as powerful as my other two pumps. I have no idea.

my tunzes/koralias do it sometimes, just keep unplugging waiting a few seconds and replugging it back in until the flow is corrected...i dont know why but the magnets get reversed on wavemakers sometimes

I have a marineland and a petco brand power head that I bought before it and they never stop working. The only downsides are they aren't as powerful, ugly as sin and the have issues staying in place if you give them any slack in the cord.

lol you know how it goes, its not a major issue just unplug and replug it back in and see if that works, if not contact hydor...their customer service is pretty awesome just a little delayed....they've replaced parts for me for free and others have similar experiences

the koralias spread their flow out alot farther than say a maxi jet! imagine the flow from a jet engine verse a turbo prop! koralias have a much wider spread which is better for a softie tank IMO and others have much more directed flow! But they are moving much more water than you think! Try pitching one against a similar gph maxijet! the koralia will win the battle if ya give it an hour or so!

You are probably right I reconfigured it so the weaker more focused ones are up higher for maximum surface agitation and the hydor is aimed at the top of the rocks so the high flow high like corals can be put in that area of the tank.

1 good config i heard was to maxijets in the rear corners facing the front midde of the tank and a koralia in the rear middle facing the front center of the tank near the bottom! creates a wave like motion in the tank! At least a 55 g standard!

    happy go lucky reefing!
