    I dont see the point.
A modded Maxi-Jet is 34.99 and puts out 2100GPH, plus you can run them on a wave controller (Koralias you can not). I replaced my Koralia's in my 200 with the modded MJ's and havent looked back since.

I ended up buying a korallia magnum 8 and LOVE it! I had 2 modded maxi-jets that never worked well. When I first put the mag 8 in the tank I did not have it adjusted properly and water shot straight up out of the tank...pointed it down and sand flew everywhere. Once I found the right spot it was fantastic.

My fish love them also....they swim straight to the powerhead and turn sideways and let the tide take them across tank...then they repeat! It is hysterical.

But I was having problems with power and flow and this allowed me to consolidate down to one powerhead.

I def would not put it in anything under what I have....135g or else it would be too much (at least the 8)

Those sound like good powerheads too. I'll consider them.
I guess the big thing with Magnums is power consumption. They burn half the power of the Maxi1200 unmodified. Can't really find how much they burn pumping 2100GPH. Maybe it's the same but hard to tell.
Depending on how many you have if it's 3 that saves about $30 a year in electricity for me. Based on 12 cents per Kwh 24/7.
Edit.. I was referring to 3 Koralia 6's.

Not sure about heat from other brands but I know my Seio adds quite a bit more heat than my Koralias. I use the Seio for my top off container.

The only thing I dont like about the Magnums is that they are the size of a freakin' football! I saw a couple at Your Reef in Sacremento and that alone puts me off.....otherwise, I really do like the Korallias in general.

if I'm not mistaken, don't the modded maxijets and koralias run the same exact way on a wavemaker??? I mean well, they function the same and both are noisy at startup
