What is the best way to place powerheads, in my case I have two koralia 2's in a 55 mid way on each end of the tank facing each other that switch every 5 minutes. Other flow is the return from my skimmer that just goes down without much pressure and on the other end the return from the canister filter. I'm wondering how other people have it set up. At the bottom through rockwork bridges etc., at the top to create more surface tension. Just curious to see how other with two koralias have em placed

I have a 55 with 2 korallia 2s as well. I have both about 3/4 up from the bottom on the side panes near the back wall pointing towards the front glass in the middle. this seems to give pretty good flow to the front of the tank, but I seem to have 2 dead zones in both rear corners. I also have one return from the sump in the middle of the tank pointing just below the surface to the front of the tank. I am considering another Korallia 2 and placing it on the side pane pointing to the rear of all the live rock.

I have similar set up to above but using K3s on a 70

side panels pointing towards middle overlapping a little - so turbulance front and centre
    but decent flow elsewhere

I have 2 internal cannister filters for Carbon and Phosphe remover/ purigen combo and these are at the back- one pointing towards front of reef and the other pointing towards rear

You can see my Koralia placement.

See my sig too. I have 5 Koralia's in my tank. One of which is a small nano I have blowing across the bottom back of the tank.

I have an ecotech MP40 turned up all the way, placed every 2 inches around the tank. I like that stormy look.

Wow Predhil and mscottring, not too much flow? How big is your tank mscottring, arent those pumps like 400 bucks a piece, thats ridiculous!!? I was thinkin about using some misc pumps I have left sitting around but would rather add a couple more koralia which I can connect to the remaining two outlets on my ocean pulse quadra. Either that or change the CA 1800 running by berlin xl which is NOT doing a great job and upgrade that to a stronger pump and connect a spray bar to the CA1800 and run it across the bottom back of the tank. The problem is gonna be the footprint of both those large pumps. Hmmm, its one of those days you wake up and begin a mission to change or add something in your tank. No, wait, thats everyday. lol. I like peredhils koralia set up. I never use the front ring on the koralia. I just leave em open, does that make a difference in flow or something. I just thought they were more for aiming and figured if I leave it open I'll cover more area.

I had two K4's in my 55gal but it was too mush flow, now I have one K4 on the side pointing upward to create surface tension and O2. Seems to be the best setup 4 me!

That was a total joke. I have one MP40w in a 48" long 93 gallon tank, and I have to dial it down or it really does look like a storm in there.
