    Hello
What brand of laptop do you guys recommend for college? I'll be taking notes and playing wow in between classes. I'm leaning towards a MacBook right now.
    Thanks

Ive got a Gateway...just bought it in the spring. I wouldnt recomend you get one though. I didnt have it 3 months and the mother board went bad where the power cord comes in. So in order to plug in my computer I had to replace the mother board. Ive heard from other people they dont hold up well either.

Macbook for sure!! I've had mine for five years and literally not had a single problem with it. No viruses..and it's just as fast as it was the day I took it out of the box. Playing WoW may be a problem unless you get certain upgrades. I don't do any gaming..but mac's aren't necessarily known for them. Do some research and find out what you'll need. Should just be a video card if I remember right. You can probably go ahead and upgrade when you're ordering it online (if you go that route..). In my 4 years of school so far I haven't had any compatibility issues. I have all the office programs as well as Matlab and a few other similar programs. If there is an issue and you NEED a window's program..you can split your hard drive to run windows on a portion of it (this is called "bootcamp") then run any (except maybe a few..) windows programs you want.

As with reef keeping..the money you initially spend will pay off in the long run!

Not sure about macbooks. I want one, but not for gaming. On any computer you would need to upgrade the video/graphics card for gaming & the ram to keep up with WOW.

What's you're budget?(if I may ask) This will help with finding a laptop for you. Personally, I'd be cool with a netbook, but I don't do much gaming anymore.

For about $1,000 you can get the new 10" Alienware, all souped up.

What is your major? How large of a HDD do you want? What processor speed are you looking for? How much RAM? What OS do you wish to use? I loved my IBM T63. There wasn't an infinite loop it couldn't live through. However, it is now slow and I am looking in to a Sony Viao or ASUS with an SSD HDD.
