Large Tank Skimmers

Just curious what everyone recomends or useses for there tank over 150 gallon. I would love to see pics of everyones set up. I will post mine in the am on my 220. What do you recomend and why. Needle wheel or injection skimmer and why.

 

I don't qualify for the over 150g, but am sure that Deltec and Bubble King skimmers will come up.

I have an aquatic system design recirc skimmer on my 200g tank.

The super reef octopus skimers are very nice for a great price. If I replace my ASD, it will be with a super reef octo cone.

 

Hmm. Well I have 200 Gal system, if that counts.

I use a Euro Reef BBE180.

Performs very well, but if I could do it again.......

Bubble plate. Supposed to make a huge difference.
Cone body. A little better performance
Output gate valve for micro adjustment. Mine uses a slide pipe to adjust by height. Can be modded for about 30 bucks.

Awesome skimmer

I have a Life Reef skimmer VS2-24 and this thing is absolutely amazing makes
more skim than almost any i have had or seen i have to dump every 3 days and its the thick nasty stuff. They have been in business for 25 years and the best part they are hand made and if u have a prob at all u can call and get help immediately. Here is a link if u want to view the skimmers.

I have a 260G and use the swc 300 ( That is probably a suprise~!) LOL

Me too. Bullet 3 with DelZone O3

 

The Becketts are supposed to be better for the big tanks, but I have never heard the reasoning behind it.
