last sea hare

well this was my last attempt at a sea hare. my tank is incredibly overgrown with gha. ive had 2 sea hare before this is my third one and im not sure if its dead or not. the first one lasted a week or so that was a awhile ago . the second one got into a powerhead and this one i got yesterday and now i suspect he did not make it. i think im cursed with the anti sea hare curse. he was drip acclimated for close to an hr.

 

nvm guess he was taking a nap or something hes cruizing now

 

Have you thought about taking a different approach for algae like decreasing feedings, using the vodka method, Microbacter 7, zeovit (expensive), Prodibio biodigest.

I've been using vodka but I just started using the biodigest and the microbacter 7 to seed the tank. I haven't seen the results I was looking for

 

sorry, boss came, so I had to submit and hide the browser Anyways, I was having a lot of algae problems and the vodka method alone seemed to work pretty good, but I wasn't getting the colors I wanted on my SPS, so I started the down the bacteria route - it's only been about 2 months, but I thought the differences would be more noticeable. It always seems like everyone else just starts it and the tank explodes in growth and color...

I just try to avoid using using livestock to control algae (a good cleanup crew never hurts and adds personality to the tank).

 

ive heard of using vodka how exactly does it work?
