I was thinking about picking up a lawnmower to eat up some algae, but Liveaquaria claims that they're known to nip SPS and clam mantles. They also claim that lawnmowers are aggressive toward fish of similar shape. What truth is there to this?

Blennies can be very aggressive/territorial and not limited to similarly shaped fish, ie., gobies. A recent post was regarding a tang that was mortaly wounded by a blenny, not sure what species. Just FYI.

I have a Lawnmower blenny and I am currently trying to figure a way to get him out of my tank!! It hasn't bothered any coral but it thinks it is the toughest fish in the tank, it nips at the hermit crabs and it chases my Pink-Spotted Shrimpgoby every time he sees it, He also seems to stalk him sometimes and I have my suspicions that it killed my Diamond goby not long ago. So My opinion on getting one is ( DON'T ) ;) .................. JMO........ John

Heh.. yeah that's a big fish!
Use a photo program like 'paint', resize, save and reupload.
Or I'll do it this weekend. :)
