Leaky bulkhead

    Before yo go through all of the trouble of changing it look and see if the bulkhead nut is cracked you may be able to replace just the nut.if infact that is the case grab a hose clamp and clamp the nut to help slow the leak so you can order or pick up another bulkhead/nut.

    If the bulkhead itself is cracked the bowl trick will work I have done it successfully twice.just make sure you arm yourself with plenty of towels because its going to leak a bit if you have sand.the second tank I did this type repair was a bare bottom and I was able to use some weather stripping foam around the lip of the bowl and got a pretty water tight seal.

    One last word of advice on the bowl method.make sure to use a deep bowl,I used a big salad bowl.you will need to pust the bulkhead into the tank so you will need clearance for it.

    thank you guys. I now have 2 more bulkheads that need to be replaced (thankfully those two are at the top of the tank). Looks like I have a weekend ahead of me...
