Just wanted to share the BioCube that i installed high flux LED strips in to replace the PCs that came with the unit... I have this tank setup at our shop for over a month now and all the corals are doing great! We will actually have this modification available soon as a retro-kit on the sponsers pages. Thanks for looking!!

thanks! just as an added note....the stock switches control the LEDs in the same fashion that they controlled the PC lamps. one switch controls the actinics and one switch controls the whites. Ill post the light meters readings as soon as i can. The LED moonlights that came stock with the biocube are also in working order in the exact same way they were from the factory. Ill also post pics of the lights under the hood tomorrow. :)

The nice thing is there is no need for those annoyingly loud fans with this setup and so far it is proving to keep corals just as well or better than the PC lamps! Stay tuned for updates!!!

That tank looks amazing! I have a freswater but have been wanting to set up another tank just like that. How big is that tank and approximately what does it take $ to setup a tank that size? Thanks for sharing.

that is a Biocube 14. so it is 14 gallons :) all in all to set that up would cost whatever the price for the biocube 14 is...Ill have to figure out the price on the upgraded lighting...and there is about 20lbs of live rock and about 15lbs of live sand in the tank. Rock usually goes for about $5-$10 a lb depending where or who you buy from, and live sand is about $1-$1.50 or so a lb. I dont have a skimmer on that tank but since i have it set up at our shop it gets a weekly water change every monday as well as full water quality tested once a week. Supplements are added as needed. At home i would suggest adding a skimmer since most lack the strict routine maintenance.
