hey guys, i currently own biocube but only with stock lighting, and 1 extra 532nm Full arctanic blue light from ecoxotic paranorma strip that costs a 100 bucks, running in my bc29.

I want to uprade lighting, but I am no good with wiring or smoldering, I just need something that will be simple as plug and play still using my hood. I dont mind installing and breaking parts down, but just the wiring and smoldering I have 0 experince with.

I am not looking for MH because Cali here in summer gets hot, already with stock lighting, my tanks is reaching 85ish in the summer, and use frozen bottle to keep it cool daily. I cant imagine getting MH lighitng, also I dont have money to invest in a chiller and MH lighting and all the 150watt electrical bill, and I dont want to get rid of my hood, because I wanna get some fire fish.

Anyway I need a good LED lighting that will be simple as plug and play, but strong enough to get sps and clams. Thanks

    EDIT:
I actually dont mind getting rid of the hood, I can add eggcrate over it from fish to go carpet surfing.
I wouldnt mind getting like those, something that supports the lights to hold up the LED up withought the need of a hood

I am looking at doing the same thing, however I think I am going to do a DIY kit as I am good at soldering and such.

You could try one of these China leds and put it under your hood. Wholesale 120W LED Aquarium Light

I have seen these lights in person and they put off a ton of light. Only thing is you will need to gut your old lights to get this bag boy to fit.

my price range, im hopping for 300, but if 300 and 400 makes difference in no clam to yes clam, i will force for 400. Lower the better.
Also the par 38 bulb, the stage light looking LED bulb from ecoxotic?

wow that is dirt cheap, but im afraid 120watt of LED light is going to cook my corals, i hear for LED especially for 29bc, around 40-50 watt is perfect or still too much for corals that are in the top

yeah the little bulbs with a few leds..

if i were going to buy leds, i would buy orphek, i dont know anything about leds but orphek supposedly makes their leds compareable to 250 and 400 watt metal halides..now if thats true i dont know, that a pretty big shoe for them fill to come out and say that but that is the company i would start doing my research..buy im not sure what 400$ would get in leds..my boy just set up a 150 gallon tank and spent 1500$+ on two led fixtures..

$400 could get you half a PR-156 fixture! haha. You could get 2-3 Orphek PR-25 PAR38 LED bulbs. They are supposed to be "under $200."

    http://orphek.com/

What about the Mu Series 135w LED fixture from Boost? Those things are STRONG! $399 for one unit - should be plenty for a bioube as well as a clam.

hey sean, long time no see, I like that boostLED, but that 135watt of LED is equalivent to 250watt MH lighting, which will cook my 29 gallon biocube, I like that orphek bulb though, I will take a little look into it.

And guys what do you think about this?
Buy LED Aquarium Products, LED Aquarium Supplies, LED Supplies Products, 60W LED Aquarium light products at Aliexpress.com
