led help

    i just got a 72 led kit and have no idea how to wire it together. There are no instructions that came with it and i cant find any thing on the drivers any where. i already soldiered the leds together positive to negetive to positive and so on. the drivers are dimable. this is the kit i got any help would be much appreciated. Aquarium 72 LEDs Dimmable DIY LED kit with optics

    Im confused on what part you dont know how to do. You already wired up the leds, now you just connect the positive wire from the driver to the positive point on the led string and where the chain ends solder that to the negative wire from the driver. The white wires go to the pots to allow dimming. If you have any detailed questions ask or pm me I just built the same exact kit a few days ago.

    thanks alot to reefwerks they really helped me out well i found out that my dimmers didnt come with a 10 v supply. kinda wish i would have found out about modular led before i ordered this kit my advice go with mean well drivers rather than max well there 10x easier. well gotta finish soildering my leds together. and wait for my dimming kit to come in.

    also does any body see any thing wrong with using a piece of sheet metal instead of aluminum for a heat sink if it wll be enclosed and away from evaporating water

    I see a lot wrong with that. You'll have fried LEDs in no time.

    People don't use an aluminum heat sink for corrosion protection; it's there for efficient heat transfer.

    You have to passively cool those diodes, otherwise they'll smoke in no time...
