Hello everyone I have a fast question.

If you have leds on your tank it I say a normal light cycle was 10 hours could I have my lights on for 14 hours and still not build up that much alga ?

Any light cycle of that duration may cause an algae or coral issue.I run an 8 hour cycle. It would also depend on lighting intensity.

I do about 12 hours, and have them dim at the beggining and end of the day, and have no nuisance algae (my ats is mostly responsible for that). 14 hours is a liiiiittttle long, but not overboard. Like vinny said, 8-12 hours would be ideal.

Wouldn't it depend on the PAR? if he wasn't running high values, he'd need them on longer?

No. too high for a few hours can still hurt corals. Too low for more time will not provide a benefit, it it is too weak, it is too weak.

Watts per gallon does not apply with LEDs, 10 watts would be 2 cree XT-Es at max power. That would do very little on a ten gallon tank. I would need the # of LEDs, type of LEDs, and wattage of the LEDs.
