    Hi,

My LEDs from RapidLED just showed up!! However, I have no idea how to layout the Leds. I am looking for suggestions!

I am planning on doing 2 identical fixtures. So, for each fixture I have the following LEDs:

    1 Green
    1 Red
    9 Cool Whites
    3 UV
    10 Royal Blues
    2 Moon

The heat sinks are drilled for 4 rows of 9 Leds. I am hoping to start wiring tomorrow if I can nail down the layout! Also which set should the red/green/UV go on (blue or white).

    Thanks!

I would take a look at the reefbreeders website as they have pictures of their LED layouts which have a similar color combo ratio as you mentioned above. Click on the 'Value fixture's, for instance, and watch for the pictures to get an idea. They also tell you which channel controls which LED's. For the most part, it seems that they have all blues on 1 channel, and all whites and other colors on the second channel.

Ideally you'd have more than two drivers for something like this...

But if you're only using two you'd want the red/green on the white string, and the violet on the RB string.

I'd have the red/green near each other in the center of the heatsink, and the violets spaced apart down the center as well. Then alternate the RB/whites across the rest of the heatsink. Put the moon lights where ever they fit, but obviously spaced decently apart/evenly.

    Yup, pretty much like that.

The first option is better than the second, as the ends will be awkwardly white on the latter option.

    Thanks for the input!

I definitely plan on grabbing another driver and more LEDs eventually. This is just a starting point :)
