    Are there any good read's about LED lighting for the home aqurium? may be im old school and just think MH and VHO are the cat's meow! LOL!

    i used to be like that until i bought an led fixture and realized even a moderate quality led light fixture has much more output than some of the best halides.

    Thats what im thinking I see some people are using them and I bet it chops the light bill down a lot

    definitely saves money long term on bills and bulbs, plus you get more color spectrums with them. If I went LED I would Do DIY or The AI SOL, those to me are the 2 clear best choices. think about it, if you have one MH @ 250w thats a lot of consumption already, where as one 75w AI SOL (i think they are 75w) is like 60-70% more efficient.

    and have higher par output as well so better growth :)

    Reefledlights.com has a bunch of great stuff on LEDs. Do a search for LEDs in this forum and you will come across tons of great info.

    ok right now im running 2 175 mh and 2 110 vho on a 90 i wanted to go with 250's and want mostly sps and lps in my tank because i had a chance to tare down my tank and re do it i gave all my soft corals away but a little nerves the LED's wont keep them for long
