I buy my salt and RO water from my LFS, salt always goes in the big container and the RO for top off in the little one. Today I did my PWC using the big container as usual and after did my tests to find my salinity really low, the LFS had put the water the wrong way around.

Lesson learnt: never assume the store is right and check your water before you stick it in your tank!

look into a ro/di filter system, will actually pay for itself in a matter of no time. More important than that, you know it's correct when you mix it. If you have corals test each batch that you mix because each one will come out different as far as mag and cal. I'm still learning Ions and why things have to fall into line or why one makes the other, such as mag before cal and alk, but taking the lfs out of the equation is one less potential mess up.

    Thanks guys.

I live-in the UK and the tank is a 21 g nano, do you recommended a unit I could use for this and do they have connectors that would fit straight on a tap?

They do have connectors that you can put onto your tap. if you go to the site you can BYO- build your own RO unit and you can choose a connector that will allow you to hook it up to your tap
