    T minus 46 hours...

:eek::eek::eek: I've been on 3Reef for almost a year now and I can't begin to thank you all enough for all the things I've learned as I planned my return to having a reef tank. In less than 48 hours my new tank will be delivered.

550 gal custom tank... 6 feet long, 3 feet wide, and over 4 feet deep. Inch thick glass all the way around with half-inch acrylic laminated to the interior and exterior of the bottom. Powder coated steel bracing rim top and bottom.

Custom Cherry stand 78in by 39in built for my by a professional cabinet maker who I met at a Richmond Reef Club meeting.

I also ordered my RO/DI unit today from BRS so we'll see how it works when it gets here.

please tell Luna that pictures will be up soon::).

4 feet tall?!?! Wow, that is going to be scary to light!! You planning on 1000w'ers.

Aren't you concerned that 4 foot will be TOO tall to support all that pressure!?!

Good luck to you and congrats!!

My LFS has a 1200 gal built by the same guys that are doing mine. That tank is the same depth as mine (49.5 inches) with an 9'x 4' footprint. It looks great but they get to write-off the upkeep on their taxes.

They also light that tank with 400 W MH and it is doing great for SPS and a huge clam.

 The trucking company never showed up at my LFS with the tank on Friday. Presumably my tank is in the back of a 18-wheeler somewhere between Texas and Virginia. Please let me know if any of you see it out there:confused:. Hopefully it will be here soon and I just take this as my first step in going slow.

On a positive note my stand did get delivered and installed as scheduled.

I'll try to get a few more pictures of it up in the next few days.
