    So is it unanimous? No more Fuel? I was only using it because I was told it helps coral growth. I was also considering iodine dosing due to the same fact.

    Don't dose iodine. What kind of salt do you use?

    I don't currently mix my own, however I do have a bucket of Brightwell NeoMarine.

    most of your nutrients are going to come in your salt. IMO most additives are useless. I'm not saying none of them have any effect at all, but most of the time it's negligible. As long as you are doing regular water changes and keeping an eye on your ca, alk and mag, you will be fine.

    Cool, thanks for all the help! Im due for a water change on Tuesday, will do one then and reassess. On this larger tank 50g with 17g sump (maybe 10g actual) How much should I change? 15-20%?

    Water changes are such an opinionated topic. I have always changed about 10% per week. some people do 20% every 2 weeks, 20% per week. etc......

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    You will increase the % of water changed based on bio-load and feedings, as well as utilization of the trace elements by the corals.

    Currently you have a very small bio-load and limited corals, a WC or roughly 10-20% monthly should be just fine for now.
