what's the thickness requirement for a 72" tall tank.

    Any recommendations for lexan suppliers?

    Good sites for tank design?

72" is really tall for a tank. Do you mean 72" long?

If you want a 72" tall tank, you will be looking at 1" or 1.5" thick sheets. That type of volume has a tremendous amount of pressure at the bottom. For 72" long, you will be looking at 1/2" thick, assuming a normal height of no more than 30". Make sure you have a center brace, if not a full top flange to give more strength to the tank walls.
Make sure you have CLEAN edges after you cut the sheets to give a strong bond when you weld the pieces together.
I've bought my lexan and acrylite sheets off ebay for my small fuge. When I make my fuge (and other larger acrylic things) I'll be buying them from plastics suppliers. Tap Plastics, US plastics are both good places to go to.

Sounds extremely risky unless you're a pro.. I wouldn't even think about it.

72" tall would be an awesome tank. Go scuba diving in your living room to clean 8) Those lights would hafta crank!! Maybe solar tubes :)

    Maybe 168"x long x 60" wide x 72" high? Ideal 8)
