    Depends on how big it is when you get it, but they can last quite awhile, I have heard of people having them for 3-5 years.

    I don't know about fire shrimp specifically, but the rule of thumb is that small, mobile reef inverts normally have life spans between 3 and 5 years, as footballdude said. There are always exceptions to the rule, and the slow-moving hiders and larger animals may live longer.

    I add to my clean up crew every 1.5 years or so. But no, you do not replace the whole clean up crew. You will find as time goes by there is die off and natural predatory instances of course.

    I've had my fire shrimp for over 2 years now.. I really enjoy the guy, I hope he lasts the 5 year mark.
