What do you have for your lighting schedule with this setup?

    Thanks!

I went with the 2 Blue Plus, 1 Aquablue special, and 1 Purple plus. Decided I would adjust my coral\light schedule as needed, but that I should go with the higher light option for my clam.

The bulbs showed up today, so I will take a before and after picture and post here

Here is my acclimation schedule I am planning. Does it sound about right, or should I start with less than 3 hours?

    Day 1-2 (1/4 - 1/5)
    Blues on @ 10 off at 1:30
    Daylights on @ 10:30 off at 1:30

    Day 3-4 (1/6 - 1/7)
    Blues on @ 10 off at 2:30
    Daylights on @ 10:30 off at 2:30

    Day 5-6 (1/8 - 1/9)
    Blues on @ 10 off at 3:30
    Daylights on @ 10:30 off at 3:30

    Day 6-7 (1/10 - 1/11)
    Blues on @ 10 off at 4:30
    Daylights on @ 10:30 off at 4:30

    Day 7-8 (1/12 - 1/13)
    Blues on @ 10 off at 5:30
    Daylights on @ 10:30 off at 5:30

    Final Schedule (Starting 1/14)
Blues: on at 10 Off at 7
Daylights: on at 10:30 off at 6:30
    Nightlights: On at 7pm off @ 10am

    Intensity--not Duration

Light acclimation is about modifying intensity, not duration. You can either hang the fixture higher or filter it through paper. Then slowly lower it or slowly remove sheets of paper. I'm not guessing you are going to need a lot of acclimation for florescent lighting though. If it were halides or new powerful LEDs, I'd say there is cause for concern.

Change of plans. The more I think about it, the more the idea of just cutting 2 new tops of eggcrate (I have a ton left over) and let it defuse the light. After a week, take one off, then the next. I actually might end up only needing one, depending how much light it seems to cut down. Then I'll just have them for the next time I need to change out lights.

Ok, I am not going to post pictures. They didn't come out AT ALL. The before and after look exactly the same on my pictures.... which doesn't do justice to the new colors. I love them!

Also, I added two layers of eggcrate on top. Will remove one a week. Leaving my current light cycle (though, I will probably need to cut down the blues a little since I am going from actinic to the blue+).

My old bulbs (original ones from the aquatic life fixture) where WAY overdo for changing. Algae had started growing there instead of just the fuge. Hopefully these new lights help :D

I run the same setup. To acclimate, I just started four hours a day and added an hour every few days untill full time period (whatever that may be).
