light fixture order

do anyone know the top 8 light fixtures and the order? (ex. pc t5 t5mh t6) am trying to get a good idea as to where the t5 light fixture sits on that scale.

 

well, this is really a realm of opinion, so I will give you mine (lol). I use t5 lighting, two 10,000k and two 260 actinics. I choose this because I feel they do a pretty good job while being cost effective. If you ask most, they will say metal halides are the best, i don't disagree but they can get very pricey. I have heard of t6, but have only seen them in very few places and I feel the bulb selection is limited. In my decision, i was choosing between t5 and pc lighting. I choose t5 because from what I have read and heard, they do a much better job and are more powerful. I would order them as follows, mh, t5/vho (depends who you are), t6?, pc.

 

one more thing, I was interested in vhos, but I couldn't find any fixtures for them. Im not sure if the ballast requirements are the same for t5s or not or if the fixture needed to specifically mention vho or not. hope this helps

 

dunno' I run T-12's vho along with my MH.
what are your tank dimentions ?

 

T5's are at the very top along with MH. The key with both is the reflector. Look for active cooling and individual reflectors on the T5's.
