light melted hood!

    i didnt realize how strong the 250 watt light would be, i need to have it not touch the hood, and not fall in the tank, how do i do this?!:-/

    you need to build a canopy out of wood. and yea they get pretty hot so don't make the canopy low enough that you could hit the bulb when working in the tank.

    I have built several canopies/lighting racks for tanks, If you could give me an idea of what you are tring to accomplish (pics of your setup would be helpful) I would be more than happy to help ya out, If a light rack is what your looking for I build most of mine out of T6-6061 Aluminum.

    Also what type of venilation do you have, is the light fan cooled?

    i would imagine theres always a risk of fire, i would build it out of some type of metal....liike stated above ;D

    Not a difficult project of you are handy, just make sure you take your time to research what you want and always remember "measure twice, cut once".
