72 watts is still a little low for 1 watt LEDs, I would go diy, or buy one of the more powerful LED fixtures.

    Is 4x54 w T5HO better than that?

It would be better than the LED you currently have. If you bought a high quality LED fixture then it is more along what is your electrical cost savings.

400W MH will run your power bill sky high since they will heat up your fish room and are good for tanks around 3 feet deep. You will be keeping them and the LED a couple of feet above the tank if the LED do not have the ability to be controlled. Given those choices I would go with the 250W MH and hang it at least a foot above your tank. My preferred recommendation is a 4X54W T5HO or an LED with a controller so you can lower the light output.

    Awesome, thanks 2 in 10.

Its actually in a paradise/extension type of room, so I cant actually hang it from the roof, there is an option with that light to get 2 x 150W metal halides instead of 2 x 250W. Would that still be enough for SPS considering it has 2 x 54W T5HO as well as 2 x Blue moonlight LED?

Thinking of the power bill now :).

Honestly I would do a DIY LED setup. That way, you'll have what color combinations you want, and it'll save you money :)

I agree :), but from my fairly failed attempt at building a nice fish tank stand (its not even done - has no doors or sides - but my fish tank is on it), I think I have learned that I am not a DIY type person :p, and with the amount of work and study I am doing at the moment, I wont have time to build one for ages. (For anyone out there, I still do all my necessary maintenance of the tank etc)

I just work abit harder and get one thats already made :)

depending on the debth and length of the tank you could do par 30-38 led bulbs lets say 5-6 and have planty of light.
