Lighting help

I have a 7 ft long tank that is 23 wide and 23 deep. I have a 4 bulb Tek light T5HO that is 48". I am planning to use the Tek light for half and do LEDs on the other half. Would that work? Was looking into the DIY kits but am totally confused at what all I will need. I am wanting to grow SPS maybe LPS, have some clams and other stuff.

What do I need to look for? Help please lol.

 

The best way to start is with what's your budget, that will help narrow it down alot

Budget wise I'm thinking 200-500 range. I have the Tek light I will use for a while but want to get another light for the other half of the tank that can grow SPS and a clam and later down the road when I can sell off more stuff will upgrade the rest of my lighting. I know it will make the tank look off with 2 different light, but it will have to do.

 

Buy a 36" 4 bulb Tek light and get the same type of bulbs in 36" size. I believe that should be in your price range if I remember right. Go to Reef Geeks and check out their fixtures with bulbs you can usually get a bit of break buying this way.

 

I'd get 2 of the 120 RGB chinese fixtures from anenome on here. they are dimmable, and when you have the cash you may be able to get away with only 1 more olthough that will be close.
