I'm new to reef tanks and ordered my bulbs for my light. I ordered a Actinic 420 and a 10000k T5HO bulbs. My tank is about 16 inches deep. Are theses good choices for a reef tank?

They should do OK depending on the fixture and bulbs and your tank size.

tank size is a 38 gallon long about 16 inches deep. I;m going to start with easy to grow corals. Zoo Med AquaSun T-5 HO Double Light Linear Fluorescent Hood is the fixture.

I am not a fan of 10,000K or actinic bulbs. My growth was very limited with them, but I did have some with mushrooms, xenia, star polyps etc.

That should be adequate for what you wish to start with. i would suggest changing bulbs in about 3 to 6 months to ones from ATI, Geisemann or UVL.
