I currently have a power compact on my tank. but I also do not have corals so it isnt a big deal. the light is a coral lite 2x 96w. I have an add from a guy in the same town with an ad on craigslist. this is his info about the light:

It’s a custom sea life fixture, comes with 4 65W bulbs that are about 2 months old. Also has 4 moonlight led’s. It’s in fine working condition, a bit dusty on top from being on the tank, but everything works great. Plastic light cover is clean and free of scratches or fading. Fans work and don’t make any bad noises.

he is asking 75 for it. would this be a good thing for me or a waste?

4x65w would allow you to keep some lower light corals. With new bulbs on your 2x96w, you could probably keep some low lights too. $75 isn't too bad for this fixture considering 4 replacement bulbs would run about $120. I would hold off, save a little extra cash and get a 4 bulb T5 fixture. That way you won't be too limited as to what corals you can grow.

^^ Agreed. ^^ Even if the fixture was free I would strongly urge you to get new lamps, and like Matt said they go for ~$30 a piece so you are looking at at least $120 for the lamps... I wouldn't bother personally.

Save the money, look for T5s or save it for something else tank related.
