    I am thinking about upgrading lighting for my 55g. I currently have the crappy single bulb flourescent lights that came with tank. I was wondering what kind and strength of light i should get.

    t5, halides, boost leds, check the forum and you will get 100,000,000 diffrent opinions and answers. I like the boost leds and they have a special going on today. Somthing to rember is get what works for you and is a good deal.

    Do you want to keep corals? If not then you do not need high intensive lighting.
