    If this is for a FOWLR, then it really doesn't matter with a lighting schedule to much. Just don't want to keep them on forever, or you will have algae problems.

    For FO or FOWLR, unless your tank is in a dark room, supplemental lighting is completely optional.

    Yes, but then again, it's not "high noon" for the entire 12 hours, only for a short period when the sun is directly overhead. :)
