    i have a ? im running 98 watt compact fl and they just dont seem bright just changed builbs my tank is 46 gallon bow front very deep cant afford halides what can u suggest any help would be great thanks the tank looks dull the :confused:light is made by is made by coralife

    T5's would be a good cheaper than halides solution.

    Do you have corals?
    Agreed with the T5. If you just want brighter for looks you could get a cheap LED system.

    all the corals you list would do great under a 4 x T5 canopy IMO
    2 x Actinic and 2 x 10K or 14K
    a 6 x T5 fixure would give you more options on lighting colouration

    the biggest disadvantage with the PC lamps you have is that some of the light goes in the direction of the tube next to it, and is thus wasted with T5 you can get individual reflectors that fit around the tube ensuring all the light goes where you want it - down towards your corals

    the best PC bulbs i've found are UVL brand w/ internal reflectors.. worth every penny... more light down into tank. they also last 4500hrs.. marinedepot and reefgeek have 96w ones..
