lights for 10 gallon

    ok there are these lights at wallyworld that are 10 watts and are energy saver(i'll post a pic later) but i want to know what i should look for on bulbs for a to gallon? o by the way i'm mostly going to have polyps

    You will probably need something around 10,000K and an actinic bulb, something over 18,000K. So you will have 20 watts over the tank?

    That is the light specs on the bulbs like the rateing

    I have example 96wat - 10000k daylight this is the power needed to run it and the amount of light it pust out

    it might but i seriously doubt it unless its from a pet store, since you are at a petstore yes

    the k stands for kelvin which is the spectrum of light the higher the k the bluer the light is, the lower the the k the more yellow the light is

    i would put atleast 40 watts above the tank.

    If your talking about having Zoa's and Polyps and mushrooms you could probably get away with using 2 or 3 of those, I have some in a 15 gallon tall under a 18 watt standard Fluorescent bulb like the ones used in a freshwater tank and they are growing like crazy.

    ok this solves the problem of lights during the day but what about the night (i was thinking home made blue led's ) any thaughs how many should i get? would it work what and what are some other options?

    its all up to you just don't keep the fish up, there isn't a need to run a moonlight.
