    MHM, yes there are other variables that need to be considered in the overall health, color and growth of coral, such as DOM, water flow, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, salinity, temperature, suspended matter that refracts the light to your corals among other things!!!!!!.

    I could not agree more with you there.. I have found with SPS that with proper filtration and all the other pieces in place I'll tweak the SPS's up to 10 12 hrs aday to find the best over all coloration on the way up to that 12 or 14 hrs I'll note the colorations in my brain then I'll bring it back down to less to see where the coloration settles off at.. Then add a hr to that light period then give them a day or several off every so often. Nothing written in stone just a I'm in the basement and there is the timer and off it goes LOL that type of schedule :)

    But like I mentioned at the shop we use the light tracks and once the lamps become static the coloration will change off even under the same lamps and photo period..
