Also I took the snail out and it's not a young nerite. When I tried to get it loose it hunkered down like it was superglued. Must just be a HH I've picked up. Thought it might a been a nerite..the turbans and rocks are covered in nerite egg pods.

Definitely not a nerite, I have an astraea that has something on the shell like that but it looks like some type of coral that did not survive.

This things definately alive. when I'd put my nail against it's high side it'd rock and suck up tight to the snails shell.

Where is the rock from? I got some rock from oregon that had chitons and limpets all over it. They all died during the cycle. Poor things :( but i got lots of shells :)

If it came in it was on some frags I recently added and didn't dip because they were full of microbrittles. I don't recommend doing this..btw.

if you got it off with your hand its probably not a limpet. every limpet I've ever seen attach so well it takes some serious effort to get them to let go without ripping them in half.

+1 to this. I have limpets all over, and can't get them off of anything unless I'm extremely lucky and catch it where it can't get its whole shell down, like on an angle on a rock.
