live rock colour change

hi my tank just started 3rd week of cycle have noticed some colour change on the live rock is it normal?,,thanks

 

Yes, usually some coraline will die and that will change color or you will start growing sponges and algae. My rock went from a white to purple, green and grey.

 

some diatoms might be starting too , in regards to color change. all kinds of algaes will be starting since youve got your cycle started.

 

Also, since your cycling you probably dont need to be running the lights till it's done.

 

thanks peeps i have my lighting on 5-6 hours a day is that normal
