    can any1 help! whats the best way to clean live sand i will be havin a clean up crew in my tank but is their any other way i can clean the top layer ;D

    Sand sifting Diamond Goby or Sand sifting starfish

    Sand sifting creatures are the only way to go. For now until you get one though you could just move the sand around a bit. This should get the crud off it and hopefully flow will take most that into your filter.

    Increase the water flow to the benthic areas of your tank, Sea Cucumber, Nassarius and Conch Snails, sandsifting stars and certain sifting Gobies!

    The gobies you mentioned don't clean anything in your sand bed. While they may sift it and such, they're just looking for little critters to much on in the sand bed. But conches, nassarius snails and cukes along with good maintenance of your tank will do fine!!!
