do you think i should reconsider the tassel finned, or are you counting that as enough, from it being on my list?

currently, i have the v. lion, fu man chu,niger trigger, and the lunar wrasse. the angel is in my reef, but i would ultimatly like to remove him, and add to the 96.

40 lbs of sand i don't think will even layer the bottom. I have 100lbs which makes about a 3" bed and my tank is only 75 gal. and i don't know how big your fish are but i have 10 fish in my tank and they're very happy. just have very good filtration or expect very frequent water changes.

 

i actually have 2, 20lb bags of sand, and it covers everything great.

That article contradicts itself, if you plan on keeping them for a long time, and only small fights occur constantly. 1 will eventually struggle to survive. A Fu man chu, as far as i know is small, and a volitions, as far as i know, is big.

NOTICE THE TERM,"closely related", which the fu man, and the v. lionfish, are NOT!

 

They are both lionfish, damsels fight and they are both damsels, clowns can fight, and they can both be clowns, chromis fight, and they can both be chromis. Fish fight naturally over territory, especially big ones. In a 96, i dont think there would be enough "turf" for each fish to be happy. territory fights will occur, similarity in species will also cause fights too. Keep the fish you have now, dont add more, if they coexist, let it be, and dont add more. its like flipping a coin, the more times you flip it, the more chances you have to fail............

 

yeah, what u read isnt always what yer gonna get. Seems like this hobby is 60% science and 40% luck when it comes to compatability issues. Id get another 20-40 lbs of sand too

 

i kinda like the way the tank is looking with the 40lbs of sand. i think i'm gonna stick with that amount, for now, then add later if need be.
