Took a couple of weeks after I first noticed him in the display tank. I was pysched when I saw the trap in my LFS. Unfortunately it actually doesn't work that well (says the guy who caught one with it). The door does not activate under water very well. If I didn't cover the door with my net and cause the door to close that way I may not have caught him. Either way, he is now sumped!

He is definitely a good looking mantis. I think I may let the LFS know I have one in case anyone is looking :)

Even though I have some live rock down there, I put a larger one with some caves in it for him. Although he immediately proceeded to go into the skimmer section, back to the fuge, then over to the return, then back to the fuge! Hopefully he finds the rock and makes a home out of it.

That's neat. Was he causing any damage in your tank?

About 3/4 of my dwarf ceriths :( If he just stole food from the fish like he loved to do, I would have been fine with it. But now I am going to have to place an order for some more ceriths at some point.

Yes, he left the fish and shrimp alone luckily. I forgot to say that he is only about 2" long right now, so still a little guy.

Well after spending his first night in the return section under the pump, he realized the 'fuge was where it was at! He found the rock I placed in there for him and has been living in it since! He has been very active decorating the new place, grabbing some chaeto and placing it here and there, digging burrows around all of the exits, etc.

    Coming out to say hi:

Pardon the quality of the cell phone pics...he wouldn't cooperate when I had the camera out.
