I have my 180 FOWLR up and running and want to add some new fish. Right now I have a blue tang (4 inches) and a foxface (5 inches) in it. I was hoping to add a wrasse and an angelfish.

Any suggestions? Something colorful with lots of personality. Anyone have any wrasses or angels that they love?

    Thanks.

I love wrasse and angel. there are tons of those two species that have very popular specimens. However ssense these are the more common fish you find in Reef Tanks, my personal opinion if i had a FOWLR I would be thinking other species because there is so many more options of fish with a FOWLR. and again just my taste but there are many non reef safe fish that are rarer to see. Batfish, Triggers, Puffers, Anglers, Boxfish. lionfish. but there is also alot of angels large and dwarf size and also wrasse that can only go in a FOWLR. I like Pinnatus batfish. Wow you gotta love that fish. they way it glides threw the water. I like the Cowfish. (thing looks like a school bus with antennas. lol. I like the saddle valentini puffer. I also would get a large Angel in a FOWLR before I would a dwarf. Some are more expensive but others like the koran or blueface but many many others.

lots of choices for you but many large angels are hard to care for and get to big but the chance of a wrasse like that is ... dumb. Pinnatus batfish are really hard to keep yet they are an awesome fish!

depends on what else your planning to have in the tank? angels and all that is only for a fowlr. but you dont have as much of a selection for a reef. however i have seen many large reef tanks with angels in them. i would try that just to see how it works out.

i think the selections should stay reef safe. especially if this is your only tank. you'll see a coral one day that you really like and bam you bring home 10. a "big" wrasse that has personality and is BEAUTIFUL is a leopard wrasse. JMO

Flame angels rule! I also love rusties, although they're not as colorful.
