i would like to add some schooling fish, to my 210gal reef.i am in the process of adding live rock, so i won't be adding these fish for a while. i thought i'd research in the mean time.
i've seen some plotosus lineatus catfish, that were nice, but it mentioned they did better in tanks with minimal rock. i plan on having around 200lbs of rock in my tank.
i'd like to school them in groups of 10 or so.any thoughts?

blue/green chromis are nice, also some orange or pink anthias or bassletts, all do well in groups and look cool in the process!!

Not a good idea in that all I ever had where not mean fish but they would all stake out a hiding hole and if any fish passed through their hole in the wall they would attack it like with even snails .. I'd look at some Bartlet Anthias they eat flake and don't require a million little meat feedings a day like most well 98% of the other Anthias require

i really love the cardinals. i've got 2 pj's, and an orbiculate. my favorite is the banggai, but i hear they don't really do well. i had one when i first started my tank, but i lost him.
i noticed they don't swim much. they just kinda hang out in the back of my tank and hover in one spot. i want something thats gonna swim a lot.

The only problem with the Cardinals is you can have any shrimps in the system.. And as for the Chromis sooner or later you are just left with one Now the Hawaiian one is really pretty and don't tend to kill each other off like the Blues and greens do. If I ever wanted to keep a chromis it would be the Hawaiian species
