Kalk+2 is that a specific name brand or is it essentially Kalk? If so Kalk will raise your Alk and CA along with PH. It actually will raise you ALK the most.

What are your current CA and MAG readings?

Well, I looked up the product since I had never heard of it and it does say "for a temporary Alkalinity" what ever that means. You may want to switch to Kent Marine Tech CB 2 part system. For the time being Baking Soda at 1 teaspoon for every 20 gal. of water volume. Now, I recently tried Reef Builder and it only takes 1/2 teaspoon for 40 gal. and I must say it raised the Alk from 8 DKH to 10 DKH in a 24 hour period. They say dose twice a week. And, yes whatever you use you can mix it in the top off water.

I personally think those levels are Great. But I'm a Zeovit user and that is what I strive for. You can increase your dosage to get the desired levels. Also who cares about PH really. Measure your ALK, CA and MAG of your water change water so and adjust it to be the desired levels.

Typically Kalk is mixed into solution and let to settle. The sludge is not used but the solution is dripped over time in make up water. I suspect this product is not a true Kalk but a CA,MAG, and Strontium supplement. You may want to switch to a true Kalk product.

Who cares about PH? Are you kidding? And, Alk of 7 dkh is not cutting it for Coral. The product is Kalk+2 not Kalkwasser.

I don't care what my PH is as long as it's not swinging like crazy. That will never happen unless ALK or CA was in a huge swing.

My current ALK is 7.4 and my CA is 400 that is balanced and very close to NSW. Please check my tank thread and you will see I have very good growth
