That's a great picture. :) :p Thanks for sharing it with us, Curt. Pretty funny.

It sounds like MACNA was pretty fun and you got lots of cool stuff. Can't wait for more pictures! :D Hoping to go in a few years...

It is very awesome! Education, education, education. How cool would that be to have had that opportunity in HS? I have offered to maintain and assist with a tank in my towns HS more than once and been shot down. Marine bio isn't a major concern in corntown.
I was very happy to learn of the program given by those two schools.

The interview will be a very interesting read. Looking forward to it.

I'm gonna jack Curt's thread and answer.

I'm guessing around 200-300 seats in the Banquet hall and each one had a light on it.

Not all the seats were filled (though) it was close. I saw people leaving with 3, 4, 5 lights.

I got more freebies on the last day so I'll have to list those out. I bought a few more things. The things I'm really excited about is the new Hanna Alkalinity Checker and the Phosphate Checker. (I have so many SPS now that I do not want to have them brown out nor have their tips burned, nor stop growing). I had an insulated bag kindly donated to 3Reef by Eheim who the "re-gifted" it to me and it came in handy because I had it filled ENTIRELY with coral frags. I'm not exaggerating....I had to switch the bag from shoulder to shoulder regularly because it weighed about 50 pounds. Pictures of those are going to have to wait a bit......I'm a little bit on the tired side.

QUESTION: HOW DO YOU MAKE AN 8 1/2 HOUR TRIP ENJOYABLE?

I'm not sure to be honest. I do know how to make it less enjoyable. Be exhausted because you've had a total of 9 hours of sleep over the last 3 days and then trust technology. Schackmel was driving and has a trip navigator called a Tom Tom. Unbeknownst to either of us, while we were at MACNA, Tom Tom was apparently drinking. I was awake and said, "What on earth? I don't remember seeing any rivers that big on the way up". It was the Mississippi!!! We were in Illinois. OMG!! I wasn't in a panic. I figured there would be some highway that followed the river South from this location in Illinois and there would be an easy way just to re-route. I looked at a FREAKIN' REAL MAP AND NO SUCH LUCK. The route the Tom Tom picked would have added 5 hours to our trip. We were 1 hour out of our way and the quickest way back home was to retrace the last hour of our trip. AAAAARRRRGGGHHH!!! I'm a glass half-full kind of person so I will leave it at this. At least we didn't add 5 hours to our trip....only 2 hours. LOL

Oh man Curt, that sucks. I loathe Tom Tom! The wife and I purchased the 1ct4. We used it for a couple months and then put it on CL because it was consistently sending us out of our way.

Best GPS is yourself and a map.
