macro algea

    hello i was trying to build a refugem but with my tank spec it doesnt work. is it ok to just have macro algea in your tank. thanks

    yes its ok to have macro algae in your tank. some will spread though and is hard to get rid of. so choose it wisely if you plan on adding corals.

    what i did is i just took the macro out of the refugium

    from what i can see it looks like feather caulerpa ( photo looks blurry so its hard to tell) , and those vines will take hold of the rock and be hard to remove

    tanks filled with all macros can be very pretty. if thats the route your going. there are so many macros out there.

    I have this in my tank, I haven't seen any roots and it is very easy to remove. Maybe I have a slightly different kind then you have experience with.

    No, it isn't a problem in a reef tank at all.

    I had Dragons Breath macro in my DT and my Lavender Tang feasted on it. Removed the remaining pieces and placed in my little BC8 tank where it has exploded in growth. The excess will be placed in refug in the big tank when ready.
    Macro looks beautiful in a DT IMO if you keep it in check.

    i have blue ochtode in my DT and love the look of it. my fuge has a mix of algae's
