mag 3 problem

    i have a mag 3 on my remora pro and everytime the power to it is shut down it doesnt start again till i open it and remove the impeller and put it back in and re assemble. please tell me theres an easy fix for this xmas has me kinda broke lol.

    Sounds like you need a rebuild kit. New impeller and bearings. Mine did this until I rebuilt it.

    Does it make any noise, like it is off balance?

    no when its running it runs quiet little to no vibrations. it is touching the glass and you cant hear anything. i sleep in the room with no probllem :/ could it be just the impeller?

    possible. Can you take the Mag3 apart to inspect the impeller assembly like the bigger ones?

    I would do that before buying a new pump. All depends if the repair kit costs the same as a new pump. I had a pump do the same thing until it stopped working all together.

    yes, well i think this is what i am doing lol im kinda new to pumps. i remove the 4 screws on the front pull off the housing and rmove the impeller on the shaft with the magnet and other bits and pieces that are on the impeller shaft thingamabob

    o no i dont want it to stop working they are pricey to get a new pump locally. :( i can get a new impeller for lik $30 i think online mabe a little less

    Mine ended up being a crack in the plastic surrounding the impeller magnet. The water got in and corroded the magnet until it cracked throwing the shaft off balance. Almost impossible to notice. Just a slight rub mark on the plastic.

    i inspected it but i didnt see anything like that. so i need a new impeller assemmbly im guessing from the sounds of it?
