Mag12 as external pump?

    Well here I am looking at my plumbing and sump with ideas brewing;)

    I wan to go with an external pump but am limited to space.
    So Im looking at a mag 12. anyone have any experience with using em externally rather than submerged?

    I soon as I submitted this thread I just saw him post in another thread. Hopin he will chime in here. I would go the route hes goin with an Iwaki pump but it will not fit understand with a 20L sump

    Ive got a Mag24 and ran it externally for about a week. I liked the idea of having an external, but it ran much noisier.

    Hopefully, it was just mine.

    It will run externally just fine. Actually, that mag12 will do better externally as it won't transfer any where near as much heat to the tank's water as if it were internally plumbed.
