Has anyone ever heard had problems with a magfloat scratching their acrylic tank? I have heard they do and am afraid to use one.

I would not risk it, just use an old drivers license or credit card. They work great on acrylic!;)

Mine scratched the tank. It happens when a piece of sand gets between the magnet and the tank. Also I think that if you leave the cleaner in the tank all the time those small white circle worms will grow into the cleaning pad and potentially scratch the tank.

Just my experiance. Do what Birdlady said. Use the Visa cleaner.
