Can any one recommend a good brand of magnesium and strontium test kits? I see there are a few on the market and are rather expensive. Thanks!

Haven't tested for strontium but the mag kit I got is Salifert and they are expensive. I think now that my tank is getting a little more mature I'll start testing for strontium as more corals are added. I know strontium helps promote coralline growth!!

And then I should probably test for Iodine. Fortunately once you get the dosing down you don't have to test so much. But until I get the routine down...more test kits...WHEW!!!!!$$$$$$$$$$. Do you suppose it is worth getting one of the massively expensive "tests for everything" kits???

I like my SeaChem Magnesium kit for what it's worth. Easy to read.

I use salifert for all my test kits. Expensive yes. Seem to be very accurate. Seachem are also good.

What they need is a digital monitor that will test, PH, ALK, Salinity, Calcium, Mag, STrot, Iodine and all others in one nice package. That would cause many companies to fold though. There is a new Calcium digital monitor on the market though. Here is the link.

It is a bit pricey right now, but will come down after the frenzy I am sure.

There has to be some computer monitoring setup that has all the probes and will test all of that I would think!! That calcium unit looks pretty nice, Poppy. And I'll bet your right the price will come down soon enough. ;)

Heck I can get a laptop computer for $700, somebody will design a rig that will do all of the testing and software that will give a readout instantly.

OHHH Matt...we need you to code us a program!!!! ;D

I'm sure it will be a lot less here in another 6 months or so. It does look like a nice unit. I wonder what the interval on changing the probe will be and calibration? What is the cost of that?

I am anxious to see where this unit will be in the next 6 months and see the reviews from people. I almost bought one myself to test, but the wife wanted a coral instead. Coral....Monitor....Make wife happy.....Make T happy.....Make wife happy wins everytime. ;D

    RAVEN,

Did not mean to hijack your thread. Just thought I would pass on the info on the monitor also since it was related to testing.
