So I received a Neptune Apex Lite Aquacontroller for the holidays. I have not set it up yet as I am home from school for the holidays (tank is in apartment at college). I am already thinking about accessories and have already ordered and received a pH probe.

I would like to make the system wireless. I know that I can buy a wireless expansion module, but this costs approximately $125. Is there another way to do this? The tank is in the same room as the comcast router. Could I just run a long ethernet cord from the system to the router? Any other ideas? Thanks.

You will have to either hard wire it to your router or you can get this wireless for about $50 - $100 (i got mine used for $40) But a hard wire set up is the easiest..

Linksys Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming Adapter WGA600N Bridge - EN, Fast EN, IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11a, IEEE 802.11g, IEEE 802.11n (draft)

IF you haven't seen this yet.. you will need it. http://reeftech.webs.com/Apex New User Guide.pdf
Its a great guide on everything you need to set up your apex. Also, RC has a neptune forum that is active.

the wireless expansion module is for hooking up connectivity to wireless pumps.

apex has a ethernet cable as thatgrimguy states, you can run a cable to your router or get a gaming adapter and plug the ethernet cable to the gaming adapter. ( the gaming adapter makes the apex able to con net to your computer, just as if it was connected directly by ethernet.

my apex is hooked up with a gaming adapter since my router is on the other side of the house.
