Yah I thought it was an Anthias but on closer inspection it does look like a Lemonpeel.

definitely orange, but google images look very similar to the one in the tank, just yellow. thanks for all the help guys! I guess all I really need to do now is get my hands on some pods, and hopefully I'll get a mandarin in the tank in a month or two.

just wanted to chime in and say that according to melevs reef Id the target Mandarin will eat flatworms...i know your prob thinking of a green mandarin because thats the one everyone wants/has (ill admit i want one too...they are very beautiful)...but i thought i would throw this out there for your consideration!! also the FW you have are the red planaria ones...and do not use a chemical or product like flatwormeXit to kill them all with out sucking a while lot of them out first, because they release a toxin into the water when they die...a few wont hurt but when a large number of them die quickly they have been know to completely crash a tank!

Thanks for the info! I'll have to think about which dragonette to get. I was definitely considering the green kind, but if the target mandarin's are known flatworms eater it may be the better choice.
Thanks for the warning about flatworm toxins. I think I've decided to just leave them in the tank. We have coral in the tank, but they're not a priority for me. I'd rather have a tank without coral just to have 1 less thing to worry about water quality wise, and I don't see too many flatworms on the actual coral. They seem to like hanging on the glass. I'll just try to suck them up with a siphon if I end up getting the green dragonette, or leave them in the tank if I get the target mandarin
